Teens Are Always Shown As One Dimensional. They're Stereotyped. When I Was In High School, I Cared About More Than Getting A Date Or Making The Team.

In 1971, Bossier City, Louisiana, There Was A Teenage Girl Who Was Pregnant With Her Second Child. She Was A High School Dropout And A Single Mom, But Somehow She Managed To Make A Better Life For Herself And Her Children. She Encouraged Her Kids To Be Creative, To Work Hard And To Do Something Special. That Girl Is My Mother And She's Here Tonight. And I Just Want To Say, I Love You, Mom. Thank You For Teaching Me To Dream.

I Think What A Big Part Of 30 Seconds To Mars Is, It's Not Only Music, It's Not Only Art, It's A Community. It's A Sense Of Having A Place To Belong. And Not Everybody Will Understand It, And That's Ok, It's Just For The People That Do.

I Don't Know, When I Was A Kid, When I Would See Shows That Changed My Life, I Would Go To See Shows Where There Was My Mother Taking Us To See Classic Rock Concerts, Like Zeppelin, Or When I Saw Pink Floyd Or When I Saw, You Know, When I Was A Little Older, And I Saw Nine Inch Nails, And I Saw The Cure.
